1. Click on ‘Settings’.

 

2. Double click on the GlobalConfig tile.

3. A list of the settings with drop down menu options will appear. Just amend the values that suits your environment.

    1. Scan for Transforms From This Relative Path

Enter the relative path where the MSI transforms are stored.

    1. MSI Properties

Comma delimited list of MSI set properties. For example, PROPERTY1=”value1”, PROPERTY2=”value2”, etc.

    1. No Shortcuts on Desktop

Set this value to ‘True’ if you do not want desktop shortcuts to be created/captured during the conversion process.

    1. Force All Shortcuts to a Specified Folder

If a valid path has been set,then all shortcuts will appear in this folder.

 

Click ‘Save’ & exit the screen.

       

4. Double click on ‘ConversionBox Application Settings’

5. A list of the settings with drop down menu options will appear. Just amend the values that suits your environment.

    1. Show Counter

Click ‘True’ to show the timing during conversions

    1. Show Screen

Click ‘True’ to show the conversions in real time on the revolving screens

    1. Include MSI's in the scan

Check this to include MSI's in the next scan.

    1. Pick up only MSI's that include the following string in the file name

Specify a file name filter here and ConversionBox will only pick up files that contain that string. For e.g.

"setup,install" will only pick up files that contain the string "setup" or "install".

Use commas to separate multiple strings

    1. Scan depth for MSI's

Select how many levels you wish ConversionBox to scan for MSI's down a folder. Select ‘0’ to scan all levels

    1. Include Exe's in the scan

Check this to include Exe's in the next scan.

    1. Pick up only Exe's that include the following string in the file name

"setup,install" will only pick up files that contain the string "setup" or "install".

    1. Show the Scan Assistant

Check this to enable the Scan Assistant again after it has been disabled by the user.

    1. Send Debug Information to AutonoWare

Select ‘True’ to send debug information directly to AutonoWare

Click ‘Save’ & exit the screen.

6. Enable the ReportLite module by clicking on the switch. It will move from Off to On. Ensure that all other module are switched off if you only want to use the ReportLite module.

 

7. Double click on the “ReportLite” tile.

8. A list of the settings with drop down menu options will appear. Just amend the values that suits your environment.

a. Record Installation

Set this to ‘True’ if you want to record the installation steps, whereby each time the installer produces a dialogue it will be recorded - including errors.

b. Output Folder

Click on the ‘…’ button to add the folder you wish your output to be delivered to.

c. Hard Coded Extensions to Check

This will check all files within the installation for hard-coded errors. For example a script might have a reference to “C:\Program Files” and if it is a 32bit application then the new path on Windows7 64bit is “C:\Program Files (x86)”. Enter the extension of the files you would like to scan.

d. Skip – if already in report

Set this value to ‘TRUE’ if you want to skip a package that has already been reported on.

    1. Skip – if output exists

Set this value to ‘TRUE’ if you wish to skip past already converted media.

Click ‘Save’ & exit the screen.

9. The following screen will appear. Click on ‘Convert’ at the top of the screen.

10. The following screen will appear. You are now ready to start testing your media for Windows 8/7.
